Two Sarahs.

Oregon-themed print from Sarah Landwehr of Two Sarahs. I love the phrase, it made me think of Mike and I meeting for the first time. Really sweet.

DIY Decoration.

New House Project is full of so many awesome things and lots of DIY's, go and check it out.

Badminton heart by Kristen Sutcliffe from New House Project

There are lots of these cool vintage-looking badminton racquets at my neighborhood thrift store, so I had the idea to make some wall decoration for my daughter's room. I used many colors of embroidery thread that I already had at home. You could make a simple image or your child's initial. I chose to do a heart.

What you would need:

*various colors of embroidery thread

*wooden badminton racquet

*embroidery needle

*marker

Step 1:

Decide on your design and sketch it out. Then use a permanent marker to mark your design onto the racquet.

Step 2:

Cut a yard or so of embroidery thread.

Step 3:

Tie the thread into a knot on the racquet. Leave a two inch tail of thread so that you can tie the other end off when you are finished wrapping.

Step 4:

Continue wrapping thread onto the racquet until the area of your design is completely filled in. Change colors of thread as often as you like. A needle isn't completely necessary, but it made the job go more quickly for me.

Strummer

I came across this brand and love their dreamy summer looks. Strummer has been around for a couple of years and their look was originally a nod to the free spirited bohemia of the 70’s music scene. The brand has evolved into a modern version of itself. Cleaner lines, tailoring and a sense of timelessness have been introduced.

Rescuing Hug

I saw this at Marvelous Kiddo and my heart skipped a beat.

This picture is from an article called the “RESCUING HUG”

The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently each were in their respective incubators and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two, threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby’s heart stabilized and temperature rose to normal.

The twins made it home a few weeks later and are now preschoolers. A little miracle.

Mr and Mrs ?

Aren't these so cute. I think the kids would love to make these. I found these at Funkytime.

Table Runner.

I made this for Michael's mum Mary. It was her birthday last week and she's been very sick and has been in hospital for a long time so it was nice she made it home for her birthday.

We all just pray she gets better soon.

Another table runner with 8 coasters made from linen.

I did sew around the birds but didn't take pics of the finished product.
